Terms of service

The service

Photo Compare lets you create before/after comparison images, videos and shareable sliders. You can use the editor without an account; saving projects, bulk export beyond the free allowance, brand kits and share links require an account. We may improve, change or remove features over time. If we remove a paid feature you rely on, you can cancel and we will refund the unused part of your prepaid period.

Your account

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. Keep access to your email account secure, as sign-in links are sent there; you are responsible for activity under your account. You can delete your account at any time from the account menu.

Your content

You keep all rights to the photos, logos and other content you upload. You give us a limited licence to store, process and display that content only as needed to run the service for you, for example to show your library or serve a share link you created. We do not use your photos for advertising or to train AI models.

Only upload content you have the right to use. If a photo shows another person, such as a client or patient, you are responsible for having their permission to photograph them, to edit and publish the comparison, and for complying with any rules that apply to your profession.

Share links are public: anyone with the link, or a site embedding it, can view the rendered images. You can delete a share link at any time.

Acceptable use

You must not use Photo Compare to:

• upload or share content that is illegal, infringes someone else’s rights, or is sexual content involving minors;
• create misleading comparisons, such as manipulated results presented as genuine, where that breaks advertising or consumer law;
• harass people, or share images of people without a lawful basis;
• disrupt, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service, or get around plan limits or watermarks.

Removing content and suspending accounts

We may remove content or disable share links that break these terms or the law, and suspend or close accounts for serious or repeated breaches. Where reasonable we will tell you first and give you a chance to respond. If we close a paid account without a breach on your part, we refund the unused part of your prepaid period.

Plans and payment

The Free plan is free of charge and has the limits shown on the pricing page. Pro and Business are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe, at the prices shown on the pricing page and at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

Your first Pro subscription may include a free trial. You are not charged during the trial, and you can cancel before it ends to avoid being charged. If you do not cancel, the subscription starts automatically at the end of the trial.

We may change prices for future billing periods. We will tell you at least 30 days in advance, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time with Manage billing in the account menu. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and it is not renewed after that. Payments for periods that have started are not refunded, except where these terms or the law say otherwise.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have the right to withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of buying it. Because you ask us to start the service immediately, if you withdraw we refund what you paid minus a proportionate amount for the days you already used it. To withdraw, email us within the 14 days.

Deleting your account cancels any subscription immediately. The remaining period is not refunded, unless you are within the 14-day withdrawal period.

Availability and backups

We work to keep Photo Compare available and your saved projects safe, but the service is provided “as is” and we cannot guarantee it will always be available or error-free. Keep your own copies of original photos and important exports.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim related to Photo Compare is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or €100 if that is higher, and we are not liable for indirect damage such as lost profits or lost data. These limits do not apply to damage caused by our intent or gross negligence, or where the law does not allow liability to be limited, and they do not affect your rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will let you know by email or in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account before then.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and can bring a claim in your local courts.
